WOW! What a morning! I was only there for the morning of this day event as I had other work commitments but I tell you....the bringing together of the community was fantastic. It was a great atmosphere with love, support and raising awareness for disabled animals. The walk was led by ParalympicsGB Dave Phillipson, Tammie Fox (founder of Pumpkin and Friends Charity) and of course the star of the show Pumpkin the Westie! The walk saw a snake of followers stretch right round Boultham Park Lake as far as the eye could see! Then everyone came together for fun games, stalls and entertainment around Boultham Park Bandstand. A beautiful backdrop for a beautiful day. The sun shone and so did the smiles on everyone there. Well done and congratulations to everyone involved for such a fantastic event. It was a pleasure to be there and capture some special memories of the day.

So much happens in the Easter Holidays but I always make sure I ask my kids what they want to do. My son knows he's named after an Island off the west coast of Scotland. The Isle of Arran. So he wanted to go. And me being a photographer, my camera came along for the adventure too! We were so incredibly blessed with blue skies, warm sunshine and good times for every day we were there.
But with that bought a hidden danger.
We were enjoying a idyllic stroll to Glen Rosa and the fairy pools when we noticed smoke on the hill near where we were picnicking. It looked like the hill was a volcano! So we packed up, quick marched back along the path. Passing Mountain Rescue and fire fighters all hard at work to put the wild fire out. We got out safely and were thankful of that. We kept an eye on the news for the remainder of our time away and thankfully read reports that 3 days later the blaze was Extinguished. No lives lost but a lot of the beautiful landscape is chard. It will regrow and I'm keeping my eye out for opportunities to help replant or raise money for the regeneration of Glen Rosa and Goat fell.
Well done to all the Volunteers who got the fire under control and extinguished.
I've got the camera, I've got the skills and knowledge, I've got the years of experience but I find that to get the very best images we work together. You need to feel relaxed, your family need to be comfortable and we all need to be patient. That's why my adventures last about an hour. I've found this is the perfect amount of time to capture even the shyest of children - and the whirlwinds! It doesn't need to be stressful at all. Just come and enjoy yourselves and I guarantee you'll love your images we create together.
So follow these 5 simple tips - book your session - get great family images!
